Established in 2021, the Centre became the first ultrasound-guided HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) facility in Nigeria and West Africa, pioneering non-invasive fibroid treatment in the region.

Uterine fibroids are among the most common benign tumors affecting women of reproductive age and remain a leading reason for gynecological surgery. However, advances in medical technology and evolving treatment approaches are reducing the need for open surgery in many cases.
